Can negative reviews be removed?

Yes, in many cases. A review removal service works because review sites remove reviews that break their own rules: fake reviews, reviews from competitors or former employees, reviews about someone else’s experience, and reviews with threats, hate speech, or private information. A false and damaging statement of fact can also be removed as defamation.

What platforms will not remove is an honest negative opinion from a real customer, even if it feels unfair. The key to removal is matching each review to the specific rule it breaks and backing that up with evidence. That is the work we do.

Key facts about review removal

  • Every platform has its own content policy, and removal requests must cite it.
  • Suspicion is not enough. Platforms want specific evidence, such as no customer record or a link to a competitor.
  • Most reviews that come down are fake, off-topic, conflict-of-interest, or abusive.
  • Removing a review also removes it from your star rating and from what AI tools see.

Why a few bad reviews cost so much

Lost customers

Shoppers read reviews before they call. One fake one-star review near the top of your profile can send them to a competitor.

Lower rating and ranking

Fake reviews drag down your star rating, and ratings affect where you show up in Google Maps and Yelp search.

AI answers repeat them

Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and other assistants summarize review sites when people ask about your business.

Hiring gets harder

Glassdoor and Indeed reviews shape whether good candidates apply.

How our review removal service works

Review removal process in 5 steps

1

Free confidential review

Send us the links. We check each review against the platform’s policy and tell you which ones can realistically come down.

2

Firm quote

You get a firm price before any work starts. Pay after removal and payment plans are available.

3

We build the case

We match each review to the exact rule it breaks and gather the evidence the platform needs.

4

We file and escalate

We submit the requests, follow up, and appeal denials through every channel the platform offers.

5

Confirmed removal

We confirm the review is gone. If we cannot complete an agreed removal, you get your money back.

How long does review removal take?

It depends on the platform and on whether the first request is approved. Yelp, for example, says its moderators may take several days to evaluate a report. Appeals add time. We give you a time estimate for your reviews along with your quote.

Can you remove reviews yourself?

Yes. Every platform lets a business owner report a review. If you want to try it yourself:

  • Claim your business profile on the platform.
  • Find the review and use the platform’s report or flag option.
  • Choose the rule the review breaks, not just that it is unfair.
  • Add specific evidence, such as no customer record or a link to a competitor.
  • Keep a record and check the status of your report.

Where do-it-yourself requests go wrong

Most denials come from reports that say a review is false or unfair without tying it to a rule. Platforms do not referee factual disputes between a business and a customer. Picking the wrong report category, sending no evidence, or flagging the same review over and over without new information all make approval less likely.

What we won’t do

We only remove reviews through legitimate channels: the platform’s own reporting process and, where it applies, legal documentation. We never write or buy reviews, pay reviewers to delete reviews, threaten customers, or use review gating that only invites happy customers.

Why it matters: The FTC’s rule on consumer reviews bans fake reviews and the suppression of honest reviews through threats or intimidation. Platforms also penalize businesses that try to game their reviews. Every method we use stays inside those rules.

Pay after removal. Money back if we can’t remove it.

You get a firm quote before any work starts. Pay after removal is available, and if we agree to remove a review and can’t complete it, you get your money back. Payment plans available. We accept all major cards and Zelle.

Review removal FAQs

Can negative reviews be removed?

Yes, when they break the review platform’s rules or the law. Fake reviews, reviews from competitors or former employees, reviews about a different business, and reviews with threats, hate speech, or private information are the strongest candidates. An honest negative opinion from a real customer is usually protected and rarely removed.

How do I remove a fake review?

Report it through the platform’s own tool and tie your report to a specific rule, such as conflict of interest or no real customer experience. Include evidence: no record of the customer, a competitor connection, or a pattern of reviews from the same source. We prepare these reports for you and escalate them if the first request is denied.

Which review sites do you remove reviews from?

Google, Yelp, Glassdoor, Indeed, Trustpilot, Zocdoc, Facebook, TripAdvisor, the BBB, and consumer complaint sites such as PissedConsumer. If your platform is not listed, ask us. We handle most sites that publish reviews or complaints.

How much does review removal cost?

It depends on the platform, the number of reviews, and the grounds for removal. We give you a firm quote after a free, confidential review of the reviews you want removed. Pay after removal and payment plans are available, and we accept all major cards and Zelle.

Is there a guarantee?

Yes. If we agree to remove a review and cannot complete that removal, you get your money back.

How long does review removal take?

It depends on the platform and whether an appeal is needed. Yelp, for example, says its moderators may take several days to evaluate a report. We give you a time estimate with your quote.

Will the reviewer know I reported their review?

Platforms generally do not tell reviewers who reported them. Some platforms, including Yelp, notify the reviewer when their review is removed.

Can I sue someone for a fake or defamatory review?

Sometimes. A false statement of fact that harms your business can be defamation, while opinions usually are not. Lawsuits are slow and public, and review platforms are generally protected from liability for user content. Most clients get faster results through platform removal. Talk to a licensed attorney for legal advice.

Is it legal to remove negative reviews?

Yes, when you use the platform’s own process and its rules. What is not allowed is buying fake reviews, offering incentives to delete reviews, threatening reviewers, or only inviting happy customers to review. The FTC’s rule on consumer reviews prohibits fake reviews and review suppression through intimidation. We only use legitimate removal methods.

What if the review cannot be removed?

We tell you before you pay anything. Other options include a professional public response, getting more genuine reviews from real customers, and pushing down negative search results through suppression.

Do negative reviews affect what AI tools say about my business?

Yes. Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and other AI assistants pull from review sites when they describe a business. Removing fake and policy-violating reviews improves the source material those answers are built from.

Can you remove reviews from Google Maps?

Yes, when the review violates Google’s policies for user-contributed content, such as fake engagement, conflicts of interest, off-topic content, harassment, or personal information. See our Google review removal page for details.

Do you write fake positive reviews?

No. We never write, buy, or post reviews, and we do not use review gating. Fake reviews break platform rules and federal law, and they can get a business page penalized.

Is my case confidential?

Yes. Everything you share with us stays confidential, and we never post or comment publicly on your behalf without your approval.
