Can you remove an Amazon review?
Yes, when it breaks Amazon’s Community Guidelines. Amazon removes product reviews that contain profanity or hateful content, private information, promotional content, content unrelated to the product, or an undisclosed conflict of interest. Seller feedback has its own removal criteria in Seller Central.
Honest negative reviews stay up. And some of the most common seller instincts, like asking a buyer to change a review, offering a refund for removal, or only asking happy customers for reviews, violate Amazon policy and can put your account at risk.
What Amazon will and won’t remove
1. Conflict of interest and competitor reviews
Reviews by competitors, people paid or given free product in exchange, and anyone with an undisclosed financial or personal connection.
2. Off-topic reviews
Product reviews that are really about shipping, packaging, the seller, or pricing.
3. Prohibited content
Profanity, hate, harassment, private information, links and ads, and spam.
4. Seller feedback that is really a product review
Feedback that only reviews the product, contains obscene language or personal information, or complains about fulfillment Amazon handled.

What sellers must not do
- Don’t ask a buyer to remove or change a review.
- Don’t offer refunds, gifts, or discounts tied to a review.
- Don’t contact buyers about a review; buyer messages are for genuine order issues.
- Don’t ask only happy customers for reviews (review gating).
- Don’t buy reviews or join review exchanges. The FTC’s rule on consumer reviews also bans fake reviews.
Pay after removal. Money back if we can’t remove it.
You get a firm quote before any work starts. On pay-after-removal cases there is no upfront fee: you pay once the Amazon review is confirmed gone. If we agree to remove a review and can’t, you don’t pay for it, or you get your money back. If the same reviewer reposts the same complaint within 30 days, we handle it at no extra charge.
Payment plans available. We accept all major cards and Zelle.

Amazon review removal FAQs
Can you remove a negative Amazon review?
Yes, if it breaks Amazon’s Community Guidelines, for example a competitor review, an off-topic review about shipping or the seller, or a review with profanity or private information.
Can I ask a customer to remove their Amazon review?
No. Asking buyers to remove or change reviews, or offering anything in exchange, violates Amazon policy.
Can you remove seller feedback?
Often, when it contains obscene language or personal information, is really a product review, or concerns fulfillment Amazon handled.
Will removing reviews put my account at risk?
Not with our process. We only use Amazon’s own reporting channels and never contact buyers.
How much does it cost?
You get a free assessment and a firm per-review quote first. Pay after removal and payment plans are available.
Do I pay if it isn’t removed?
No. On pay-after-removal cases there’s no upfront fee. On prepaid cases, if we agree to remove a review and can’t, you get your money back.
How long does it take?
Clear violations can resolve in days; most Amazon removals we take on resolve within 2 to 6 weeks.
Do you help with reviews on Walmart, Etsy, and Shopify stores?
Yes. See our e-commerce reputation management service.
Are you a law firm?
No. Defamation Defenders is a reputation management company. When a case needs legal action, we work with partner attorneys.
