Can you remove a bad review from Indeed?
You can’t delete an Indeed review just because it’s negative — but reviews that break Indeed’s guidelines can be reported and removed. Indeed says employers cannot delete reviews that meet its content guidelines. Reviews that contain false statements of fact, discriminatory or abusive language, personal information, confidential company information, or other prohibited content can be reported, and Indeed removes the ones it finds in violation.
Our job is to tell the difference quickly and honestly, then make the strongest possible case for the reviews that qualify.

Which Indeed reviews can be removed
These are the categories Indeed’s guidelines prohibit, with examples of what we look for:
| Guideline issue | What it can look like |
|---|---|
| False or defamatory statements | Stating as fact something that can be shown to be untrue, rather than describing a personal experience |
| Discriminatory, threatening, or abusive language | Slurs, threats, harassment, or hateful content |
| Naming private individuals | Identifying a manager or coworker by name with personal details unrelated to their job |
| Personal or confidential information | Phone numbers, addresses, salaries of named people, or non-public internal company information |
| Claims of illegal activity | Accusations of crimes; Indeed says reviews aren’t the place to report them |
| Not a real employee experience | Reviews from non-employees, product or customer-service complaints, or duplicate reviews from one person |
| Paid or pressured reviews | Reviews posted in exchange for payment or under pressure |
| Irrelevant or spam content | Off-topic text, promotions, made-up words, or copied content |
Reviews that usually stay up
Honest negative opinions about pay, management, workload, culture, or turnover are generally allowed, even when they’re harsh and even when you disagree. We won’t charge you to report reviews that clearly comply. For those, the better tools are a professional response, fixing what the reviews describe, and encouraging genuine feedback from your current team.
We don’t write fake reviews or try to identify reviewers. Indeed keeps reviewers anonymous, and manufactured reviews break its rules and put your company page at risk.

Indeed review removal FAQs
Can you remove a bad review from Indeed?
Only if it violates Indeed’s guidelines. Indeed says employers cannot delete reviews that meet its content guidelines, but reviews with false statements of fact, abusive or discriminatory language, personal information, or other prohibited content can be reported and removed.
How do I report a review on Indeed?
Use Indeed’s employer support to report the review, identifying the specific content that breaks its guidelines. We can assess, document, and submit the report for you.
How long does Indeed take to remove a review?
Indeed says reported content that violates its guidelines is removed within 1–2 business days. It doesn’t notify the reporter of the outcome, so the page needs to be checked.
Can you guarantee an Indeed review will be removed?
We guarantee the removals we agree to take on: if a review we agreed to remove stays up, you get your money back. We only agree after assessing it against Indeed’s guidelines.
Can you find out who wrote a review?
No. Indeed keeps reviewers anonymous and does not share identifiable job seeker information with employers. Identifying a reviewer would require legal process, which is a matter for an attorney.
Is a negative opinion grounds for removal?
No. Honest opinions about pay, management, or culture are generally allowed. Statements presented as fact that can be shown to be false are different.
What if a former employee posted more than one review?
Indeed allows one review per person per company. Duplicate reviews from the same person can be reported.
What if the reviewer never worked for us?
Reviews are limited to current and former employees. If you can show the review isn’t from a real employee, that can support a report.
Should I respond publicly?
Often, yes. A short, factual, professional reply can reassure candidates. We help you decide when and how to respond.
How much does Indeed review removal cost?
It depends on how many reviews qualify and what else you need. After a free assessment, you get a firm quote. Pay after removal is available.
Do you write positive reviews for companies?
No. We never create fake reviews. We can help you invite honest feedback from real employees in ways that comply with Indeed’s rules.
Can you help with Glassdoor and Google reviews too?
Yes. See our Glassdoor review removal and review management services.
Is our assessment confidential?
Yes. What you share with us stays confidential.
Are you affiliated with Indeed?
No. Defamation Defenders is independent and not affiliated with Indeed.
